You Cannot Change Without Grace

Living our lives with the grace of Christ is one of the best decisions we can make. Christ’s grace is found throughout the Bible and it is what enables us to be forgiven, have eternal life, and experience His love. We cannot change our life without His grace.

In Romans 5:20-21, it says, “Where sin increased, grace increased all the more, so that, just as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” This scripture teaches us that we need God’s grace in order to have eternal life.

In Ephesians 2:8-9, Paul writes about God’s amazing grace: “For by grace you have been saved through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works so that no one can boast.”

1 John 4:19 says “We love because he first loved us. If anyone says, ‘I love God, but hates his brother or sister, he is a liar; for whoever does not love their brother and sister whom they have seen cannot possibly love God whom they have not seen.” This scripture teaches us that if we claim to love God but do not love others, then we are liars . . . because true Christianity requires loving others as well as ourselves! 1 John 3:14 reaffirms this idea when it says “We know that we have passed from death to life because we LOVE OTHER CHRISTIANS.” So if we want to know whether or not we are truly living for Christ, look at how much LOVE WE HAVE FOR OTHER PEOPLE! Do you see evidence of Christ’s love flowing out of you towards others? If so, then you ARE living according to His will!

Christ’s grace enables us to change our lives for the better and helps us live according to His will. With His help, WE CAN become new people who reflect His character in everything we do! And even when things don’t go the way WE EXPECT THEM TO go (which they often don’t), WE CAN trust Him knowing that He has a good plan for OUR LIVES and will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5)!
